Hwacheon’s winter festival features ice fishing and winter activities. The 2026 edition has ended. Government media announced January 9–31, 2027 as planned dates; new operating conditions require separate confirmation.

Getting there by public transport
Take an intercity bus from Dong Seoul to Hwacheon, or travel by train to Chuncheon and transfer to a Hwacheon bus. Trains do not run directly to the venue. Check winter road conditions and your return journey.

The 2026 information separates walk-in, reserved and foreign-visitor fishing areas. The organizer labels detailed content as 2026 information awaiting a 2027 update. New fees and booking requirements need confirmation.
