Tongyeong pairs island-dotted waters with the everyday life of a southern fishing port. Around Gangguan Harbour and Jungang Market, waterfront scenes meet local food, while Dongpirang’s hillside lanes offer murals and views across the harbour. After dark, DPIRANG transforms woodland paths in Nammangsan Park with light and moving images. Two distinctive local treats are Chungmu gimbap, small rice rolls served with spicy sides, and kkulppang, sweet fried buns.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Where can I begin after the bus to Tongyeong?

Use Gangguan harbour and the central market as your first city-centre district. Tongyeong Bus Terminal needs a local journey: compare a current bus route with a taxi before starting the market walk.

Use Gangguan harbour and the central market as your first city-centre district. Tongyeong Bus Terminal needs a local journey: compare a current bus route with a taxi before starting the market walk.

Gangguan harbour & Central Market

Can I treat the terminal as the harbour entrance?

The bus terminal and Gangguan harbour are different places. Use Gangguan in Jungang-dong as the destination; KTO describes a taxi connection from the terminal.

YOUR VISIT, CONNECTED

Plan the visit, and the way back

01

Arrive at the right place

Choose the entrance or a single stop in the official guide first. A regional or trail name is not a boarding or arrival point.

02

Eat & choose a base

Map results can include distant businesses. Check the walking or driving journey to a restaurant before choosing it. For a stay, compare arrival access and the evening return.

03

Return or move on

Check the last service on every leg before leaving. The return stop may be across the road or at another entrance.

No car, late finish, rain, luggage or access needs?

Without a car

Start with one cluster of places. Check bus direction, the return stop and the last departure before adding another area.

Bus booking & payment

Late finish or cancelled service

Keep your stay address ready. Ask for a pickup quote and return arrangement; a map route does not confirm taxi availability.

Taxi options

Rain or a closed attraction

Check the operator before departing, then choose another nearby place. Keep any return booking in mind when changing the day.

Other places in this region

Bags, children or step-free access

Confirm lift access, slopes, toilets and the exact drop-off with the venue. Do not infer accessibility from a map or photograph.
