The Chungcheong region spans former Baekje capitals, inland rivers and lakes, and sandy shores on the west coast. Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju and the historic sites of Buyeo offer a glimpse of the ancient kingdom, while Dodamsambong in Danyang and Cheongpungho Lake in Jecheon bring mountain scenery to the water’s edge. Beopjusa Temple on Songnisan and Daecheon Beach add two more distinct settings to a journey through the region’s heritage and landscapes.
