Gangwon stretches from mountain forests to the beaches of Korea’s east coast. Seoraksan’s rocky peaks, the highlands around Daegwallyeong and the shores of Gangneung and Sokcho give the region its varied scenery. Nami Island offers tree-lined walks, while Wonju combines art and valley landscapes. Chuncheon’s dakgalbi and makguksu and the stalls of Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market add local flavour to a region that feels different with every town and season.

Does it matter which Sokcho terminal I use?

Yes. The intercity and express terminals are different places. The market has a walking connection from the intercity terminal; check a local bus or taxi from the express terminal. Treat Seoraksan as a separate journey.
